Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Treehouse Residence Hall

  • 578 Huntington Avenue Boston, MA, 02115 United States (map)

The result of a unique design process that brought together Massachusetts College of Art and Design students, professors, staff, alumni, trustees, and design firm Add Inc, the Treehouse Residence Hall has been called a new landmark in the Boston skyline. The 20¬story residence for 493 freshmen includes a café and living room, a health center, communal kitchen, game room, laundry room, fitness center, and 17 floors suites with a lounge and work rooms. Inspired by Gustav Klimt’s 1909 painting, Tree of Life, the building is clad in over 5,000 composite aluminum panels.

First-come, first-served tours at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm on Saturday only. Meet in lobby. Outside of listed tour times, only lobby and cafe will be accessible to the public.

Also check out the Design and Media Center as part of CB16.
