During the weekend of June 4th through 5th, thousands of residents and visitors explored dozens of architecturally, culturally, and historically significant sites across Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville that were either open to the public for one weekend only, or that provided a special behind-the-scenes opportunity just for Common Boston visitors.

FRIDAY, JUNE 3

On Friday, June 3, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm was the annual event, the dParty! This fun and lively get together celebrates all things design and serves as a kickoff party for our open house festival weekend.

For the #CB16 dParty, we transformed a floor of the Innovation and Design Building—home to a dynamic mix of architecture and design firms, creative service studios, makerspaces, tech start-ups, and other innovative companies—into a fully realized block party. Guests enjoyed great harbor views, fantastic music, a parklet lounge, and the best dancing and conversation, all in the name of community-spirited fun
