Otis House is the last surviving mansion in Bowdoin Square in Boston's West End neighborhood. In 1796, Charles Bulfinch designed the house for Harrison Gray Otis, a congressman and real estate entrepreneur, and his wife, Sally, who lived and entertained lavishly in this elegantly furnished home. The house’s design reflects the classical proportions and delicate detail of the Federal style. Join a guided tour and discover what life was like for Boston’s elite after the American Revolution, as the city grew and Beacon Hill became Boston’s most fashionable address. Learn about the Otises, their young family, their servants, and the people who lived here after them, when the building was a genteel boarding house. 
House may only be accessed via free, 50-minute tours offered on the hour and half hour from 11am. Last tour at 4:30 pm. Space is limited; first-come, first-served.
