Boston Public Library, Mattapan Branch

  • 1350 Blue Hill Avenue Mattapan, MA, 02126 United States (map)

This 21,000 square foot environmentally friendly building was designed by William Rawn Associates, Architects, Inc. and opened in its current location in 2009. The stone and brick building features an abundance of glass that allows sun to brighten the interior, which includes a high-ceilinged reading room, a community room paneled with warm wood, colorful children and teen spaces, and exterior courtyard for programming. The branch’s open, easy-to-navigate layout makes it fully ADA accessible.
